Dear Bristol, (updated with response by Andrea Freidman)

Since you seem to think that you have the 'right' to lecture people about what is and is not appropriate, I thought I might take a few minutes to respond.

First of all, some advice, Bristol. Do not make the same mistake as most of your Mom's fans which is: form opinions before checking out facts and informing yourself.

BEFORE you go off on a rant, or allow your name to be signed to one, make sure you know what 'you' are offended about! If you are going to object to a TV show, shouldn't you at least have a clue about it? Fact is, Bristol, that Family Guy didn't mock your brother in any way. If you'd watched the show, you would know that. (Your Mom? Well that's another issue; hey, everybody with half a brain laughs at her!)

The character, Ellen is on a date, a 'normal' activity for a teen. She is assertive, demanding and self-centered; a normal attitude for a modern teen-aged girl. She isn't a slobbering idiot who can't pick up a fork, she is quite poised. How is that mocking?

There are 4 facts we know about the character.

1- She is a teen aged girl .
2- She has DS.
3- Her Mom is an ex-Governor of Alaska
4- Her Dad is an Accountant.

So ... Think about this:

1- Trigg is a baby boy.
2- He has DS.
3- His Mom is an ex-Governor of Alaska (open to debate, but for the sake of argument, I'll play along here)
4- His Dad is .... Well, what IS his Dad exactly? A fisherman? A oil worker? An ex Shadow-Governor? He isn't an Accountant, is he?

SO .... Of the 4 'facts' about Ellen (the character) there are TWO facts in common, the Mom and the DS.

Now
... Let's go on to you:

1- You are a teen aged girl
2- You do not have DS.
3- Your Mom is an ex-Governor
4- Your Dad is not an Accountant, right?

SO, of the 4 'facts' about Ellen (the character) there are TWO facts in common, the Mom and the teen aged girl!

Maybe the show was about YOU, Bristol!

Maybe the girl, was YOU and not your 'brother' !

A very interesting question then comes up. Since the first 3 facts can apply in some way to either you or Trigg, one can't help but wonder: WHAT WAS THE POINT OF FACT #4: MAKING ELLEN's FATHER AN ACCOUNTANT?

It does become the 'factor' doesn't it, if looking for reasons WHY you and your Mom and She-Who-Writes-the-Notes immediately assumed that Ellen represented Trigg, when 2 of the first 3 facts apply equally to you and Trigg. Therefore, it's logical to assume that the 4th 'qualifier' (the Accountant Dad) is the one that IDENTIFIED Trigg.

I'm just saying ......... Since 2 or the 4 traits are common to both you and Trigg, WHY ARE YOU SO QUICK TO ASSUME AN INSULT TO TRIGG???

Is Trigg's father an 'accountant'???

Did the show just throw that out in order to 'eliminate' the Palin kids OR is there a reason for that 'fact' being dangled out there?

Is HIS DAD an 'accountant' ?? It's a reasonable question to ask!

NOW: ABOUT YOUR RANT.

****That was quite insulting to the actress who played Ellen; Andrea Freidman is a successful professional with an impressive resume. She ALSO has DS. Look her up. I saw her recently on an old Law & Order SVU and she is quite talented.

In my view, I would say that she is a role model. A great example of what a DS child can accomplish when growing up in a family with support, encouragement and dedicated care to the special needs of a child with DS.

So Bristol, who do you think you are, to judge this young woman's work? Her 'experience' is a whole lot more reliable than yours is insofar as the 'challenges' she and others with DS face on a daily basis.

Who do you think you are, suggesting that Andrea is somehow 'wrong' to portray a teen girl out on a date, simply because that girl has DS? YOU Bristol are the one doing the 'gut kicking' ......... Insinuating that somehow, it's wrong to portray this very normal teen activity.

BTW ... Bristol ... That SVU episode I mentioned earlier? Andrea played a young girl who had a baby 'by accident' ......

Do you object to TV shows that have unwed teen mothers too? Do you feel 'targeted' then too?

Bristol, who are you to lecture others on kindness .... YOU are presently trying to keep your son's father from his life! Is that considerate to your son? Whatever your issues with your son's father, you need to rise above that, and do what is best for that little boy and THAT is doing whatever you can to NURTURE a relationship, not PREVENT one.

Stop whining about attacks! We see through it when your Mom does it, and we see through it when you do it. You make up 'attacks' then flatter yourselves that you have 'thick skins'. The 'poor me!' act might work with the sycophants you allow on FB but ... well the rest of us can read!

Stop whining about Trigg! There is only one person to blame for the attention he gets and that is your Mom who uses him as a prop and a shield. The lack of respect shown to that baby during the recent book tour was sickening, so please, save us from your outrage at imagined slights!

Yours sincerely,

Archivist. :)

P.S. I just read on Immoral minority that you are in the process of trying to pretty much destroy Levi. Bristol, he is your son's father; you can't hurt Levi without also hurting your son. Look at the effect your Mom's selfish decisions have had on you and your siblings ..... is that what you want for your son?

Great PR work ... Shame on you, Bristol. Money doesn't buy class.

Remember ..... KARMA!

***************************** UPDATE

Andrea Freidman has responded to Bristol's mindless rant in an email to the New York Times by saying that Sarah Palin doesn't have a sense of humor!

So now, Little Bristol
..... You are in a pickle, aren't you? After all, in your paranoid world, any challenge to a Palin, is an ATTACK! BUT ..... how can you respond to this ATTACK! when it comes from someone who actually KNOWS what she's talking about? You can't really tell Andrea that she has 'no idea' of the 'challenges' she faces, can you? Are you going to get into a FB fight with a woman with DS now??? Or, will you pull out the usual Palin Hypocrisy tactic, and make an exception when it comes to someone you can't possibly stand up to?

  1. And, Bristol, you might want to start trying to gain control of your life and treat your child's father with respect. He's a 19 year old that would like to have a father/son relationship without being persecuted for your mother's perceived slights. Consider yourself and your son blessed that his father wants to parent him and hasn't walked away leaving you in the lurch. You might want to reflect on the fact Levi has said nothing derogatory about you in the press. He's only spoken of you with respect and obvious affection. Most young men in this position would have been long gone and trashed you on the way. Pull yourself together and consider how you'll explain to Tripp the way his father was treated when all he was asking was to be a father to his son. Quit wasting precious time, Bristol, and be the young woman you were represented as being when your mother thrust all of you and, what should have remained, your family's private life into the midst of the insanity that has ensued. None of us wanted this drama to consume so much time and energy. We knew nothing of you before this and that was just fine. We didn't ask for this, ever!!

  2. Bristol, get over yourself, you are just a statistic, another unwed teenager.

It is very short sighted of you to try to keep Levi, the supposed father to your son, out of Tripp's life. You may succeed, but years from now Tripp will hate you for it. Your relationship with him will become like your's with your mother. He will do anything he can to try to hurt you to get back at you for keeping his father out of his life. I know thinking isn't your strong point, but give it a try if you truely love Tripp put him and his needs first.

  4. RE: the picture of Sarah and Trigg. I remember that one. It was late at night and he looked like he had been sleeping on the bus. Sarah just grabbed him for the photo op. She couldn't bother to dress the little guy or comb his hair.

What kind of mother grabs a half dressed sleeping baby and thrusts him in front of a crowd with camera flashes in his poor little eyes? Sarah is just disgusting in how she uses that poor baby.

  5. Great post! The Palin family belong on Jerry Springer or a reality show about Grifting Families.

Wasilla Hillbilies is so right too! Trash through and through!

Can't wait for the MSM to break the story of Trigg's real story. I think the accountant father is a major teaser.

  6. I gotta stick up for Bristol Palin here. I went to school with her a few years ago and she is not that bad. Maybe she changed I dont know but their is more to the story than you know! She has no friends either because of her life so she is lonely; and I am sure she is pretty horny too because of the abstinent thing.

Lots of girls are after Levi so she wants him to be broke so he can't date too much.

  7. Bristol you can raise your child with dignity or drag him up like your mom is doing to Piper.

    Dignity? Are you kidding haha

Bristol Palin has no dignity or self respect. She was raised in a disfuntional family she knows nothing else.

That made me laugh the very thought of a Palin women with dignity! Have you seen Sarah lately? Skirt hiked up to draw attention away from the botched up face lift. Bristol is as stupid as her mother too.

I want to know who the accountant father is too maybe Levi knows?

Andrea Freidman is a remarkable lady.

    Bristol owes her an apology.

    ReplyDelete
  12. RC you're right. However, the list of people the Palins owe an apology to is very long.

Andrea Freidman is at the top of that list, but I wouldn't hold my breath; it's way above their 'class' ...... I think Bristol is probably jealous of Andrea.

  13. GREAT POST!
    GREAT WEBSITE! (new here)

I too think Bristol has crossed over line of decency and into the Mean Girl syndrome her mother has displayed (all her friggin' life). Sarah's entire history is one of being the b*tch to anyone who she didnt like.
I used to "kinda" like Bristol. She was young, not yet mature enough for intellect (4 lack of better word). Then BAM! She changed before our very eyes. (or maybe she was always MEAN)

She's a duplicate of her Mother, hook line and sinker. I have no sympathy left to give her. Levi doesnt deserve what he's getting today one bit. After this last feasco, I hope he remains quiet and let's the chips fall ALL OVER EVERYthing PALIN.
    NO sympathy whatsoever.

  14. Personally I don't think Bristol wrote or was even asked for her signature to the FB rant. She was probably told after the fact or even heard about from a third party. In any case Archivist all of your points still very valid to whomever wrote that tripe. Also too ... wouldn't those points apply to Willow? And maybe they meant the father was a dentist not an accountant. JK
Have a nice day all !!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. kassie; yes, it would also apply to Willow, but since she keeps a low profile -- no lecturing people, no making $$$ off her Palinosophy, I chose to give it a pass.

I don't think Bristol wrote that note either; but it's her name at the bottom! I don't think registering a PR & Political Consulting firm was HER idea either, but she signed the documents for that too!

Maybe if she realizes the consequences of allowing OTHERS to decide for her, she might take some responsibility for the pain that is being inflicted onto her son's family, ALSO in her name!

  16. Keep dreaming on.

Bristol is a Palin so she blame others for all of it. They made me do it!

  17. I guess I was thinking more along the lines that the jab was at all the Palin children rather than just Trig.(I did get that it was at the Queens expense though) They don't seem very engaged in what is going on around them in the photos I have seen.In any case I would be leary of letting someone use My name when everything they touch turns to ick. That's ignorance for you.

    ReplyDelete
  18. From Palingates:

My name is Andrea Fay Friedman. I was born with Down syndrome. I played the role of Ellen on the "Extra Large Medium" episode of Family Guy that was broadcast on Valentine's day. Although they gave me red hair on the show, I am really a blonde. I also wore a red wig for my role in " Smudge" but I was a blonde in "Life Goes On". I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny. I think the word is "sarcasm".

In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes.

Andrea sent her comment by e-mail to the New York Times.

    ReplyDelete
  19. harry! Thanks for the comment! I was just updating the blogpost with that when you posted your comment ( I didn't bother quoting the whole thing!)

Let's see if Bristol defends her Mom now against an 'attack' by someone with DS !!!

Oh those Palins, they just NEVER know when to just shut up, do they??

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks, Archivist, for your insightful post. Andrea seems like a witty, talented and smart person who's made a life for herself with the love and support of her family and friends, who obviously have her best interest at heart. She's a role model for ALL people, not just those with challenges and special needs.

Sarah's warped mindset that Trig fits a stereotype she can use to make money and draw attention to herself isn't helping anyone, especially Trig himself. After all the money she's gifted, she donated a measly thousand dollars to DS charity, a crumb compared to what she made parading Trig across country.

The bonding mothers of Lake Lucille are doing their best to destroy Levi, who's the only person I've seen who genuinely cares for both Trig and his son Tripp.

Mercedes facebook post says it all, and she's far more eloquent than Bristol ever was or will be.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I just can't believe how ignorant Sarah Palin is. Any child - disability or not needs encouragement, love, and support in order to be successful. Andrea is living proof that a disability just means that you have to get more creative in overcoming the challenges that come with life.
There is nothing wrong with a girl going out on a date. There is nothing to be offended by. So shut up and get over it.

Andrea is proof that you truly can be anyone you want to be.

I hope Sarah finally starts realizing that she shouldn't push her kids out in front of the cameras as if they were zoo animals. While being a "media whore" means that your family will get attacked - but push your kids out as far as you can to the cameras and talk about your kids and family and private life constantly and you just add fuel to the fire. You did this to yourself.

  22. The half-governor should spend some time with her son instead of scribbling nonsensical notes on facebook like a 15 year old.

Here's a little insight into Sarah as a mother ("Game Change", page 370):

"The McCain people knew so little about Palin that every time a press controversy erupted, someone had to race to the suite and find out directly from her what was true and what was false. Palin had barely settled in on Sunday night before she had to deal with drafting the statement concerning Bristol's pregnancy. Palin called her daughter in Alaska to tell her the revelation was coming - I love you, she reassured Bristol, you're a good person - then turned to her fledgling team and said, all business, 'Where were we?'"

Sarah tells Bristol, a minor child at the time, that she is about to be humiliated in front of the whole world. As soon as the minor problem, Bristol, is "handled," Sarah gets back to the business at hand ("Where were we?") as if nothing happened. That is hurting, hateful, and hideous.

Sarah is a failure at motherhood.

  36. Okay so I heard about the Family Guy Episode. Didn't see it yet, but I wasn't surprised. 'What's the big deal! Family Guy always does this stuff!' Both of my parents are deaf and we all find humor in the greased up deaf guy. They aren't making fun of deaf people. It's a greased up weirdo who HAPPENS to be deaf. Just like Chris' bossy girlfriend who HAPPENS to have DS, and guess what! The voice over actress also has DS! OMG BIG F'ing deal!!!!!!! Frankly I think the real big deal is how GREAT Andrea looks for a 40 year old!!!!! She looks like she's in her 20's! Go ahead girl!
As far as the Palin's.... I have no words about them, Everything I feel and think about them has already been well put.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The Palins tried the same shtick when Letterman made his comment months back. It was apparent to everyone watching that he was ribbing one child, but the Sarah and Todd tried to make everyone think the remark was made toward the younger child.

This time around they try to make people think Trig is being targeted, when it was Sarah.

I saw through it the first time, and I see through it this time; either I'm seeing through it, or Todd and Sarah Palin are just that stupid.

    It's up in the air.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I was particularly annoyed the night John McCain unveiled Sarah Palin as his running mate. They paraded her out on stage, and it was almost immediately mentioned that she has a "special needs son who she never even thought of aborting." (the statement has proven to be false by Palin's own comments regarding her struggle with the decision about aborting Trig) But for the GOP to try to give her credit and garner pro life votes for "not considering aborting her child" are ludicrous. Would anyone introduce Obama by saying "he has two daughters that he never considered aborting?" You dont get extra credit for not killing your children, not even in America. Thats as absurd as boasting "this is my child, and I never even considered molesting him/her"...

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm struggling to see how Trig was made fun of in any way on the show. The line simply implied that a character with DS was the child of Sarah Palin, who does in fact have a child with DS in real life. Why do some people see that as cruel? do those people see having a child with DS as something to be ashamed of? do they believe pointing out that someone has a child with DS is a rotten thing to do? the character was a normal person, not some negative stereotypical representation of a DS person. There was no fun made of Trig.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anon, I think the Palins were well aware of the fact, but they see any possible chance to looked victimized as a boonl so they jumped on it, hoping that no one would take a moment to step back and say, "What a minute..."

Silly Palins. Hicks don't mix with politics.

Lathrop, who lives in Ireland with his wife and two children, is rector of the parish of Killeshin and Duniry, and is a popular clergyman. He laughed when he told a reporter 'Being a relation of Ms. Palin is not something I will be climbing the steeple and declaring to the world.'"

Will someone give her a lollipop.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Julie, there was something else in "Game Change" that's very revealing about Sarah as a mother. It's on page 396 and page 397:
"Then there was the matter of Palin's substantive deficiencies. On September 10, she was preparing to fly back to Alaska to see her son Track ship off to Iraq and to tape her first network interview with ABC News's Charlie Gibson. Before the flight to Anchorage, Schmidt, Wallace, and other members of her traveling party met Palin at the Ritz-Carlton near Reagan airport, in Pentagon City, Virginia - and found that, although she'd made some progress with her memorization and studies, her grasp of rudimentary facts and concepts was minimal. Palin couldn't explain why North and South Korea were separate nations. She didn't know what the Fed did. Asked who attacked America on 9/11, she suggested several times that it was Saddam Hussein. Asked to identify the enemy that her son would be fighting in Iraq, she drew a blank. (Palin's horrified advisers provided her with scripted replies, which she memorized.)"

I made the mistake of assuming Sarah knew as much as the average governor, especially since her 80% approval rating made her the most popular governor in America. Nevertheless, today, I can forgive her for her ignorance. That can be fixed. (I walk around in a nearly-blind ignorance. But it's an honest ignorance.) This, however, is unforgivable:

"ASKED TO IDENTIFY THE ENEMY THAT HER SON WOULD BE FIGHTING IN IRAQ, SHE DREW A BLANK."

The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. If your child was about to be shipped into harm's way, wouldn't you want to know everything? Wouldn't you want to know if there was something, anything, you could do to keep your child safe? Of course you would. That's what mothers do. Unless you're Sarah. Sarah did not give a damn about Track. She didn't even bother to find out who he would be fighting. She didn't care. She was indifferent. And that is fucking unforgivable.

  49. A failure at being an unwed role model, Bristol knelt at Andrea's feet, gaining a new public identity, a presence to be trampled on and rescued.

    Just like her mother.

After being rescued from a special needs person, from a cartoon, what's left? Cramps, of course. Menstruation. The injustice of a heavy flow day will be unbearable for Bristol. Sarah will lament how life for her and her family is so unfair, so cruel, and so heartless. A Tampon will be "like a bullet in the gut." And the Palinbots, with tears flowing, will rally to Sarah. They will boycott Tampons, proclaim menstruation a biological hoax, evil propaganda from the MSM and the socialist in the White House. They will prick and prod and beg Sarah to rid humanity of this curse.

    And Sarah will hide.
